pm- 3.87 miles/ 30 min E. Well I came to practice but Coach had to talk for a while to the new dudes and girls so I wasnt able to run cause Alli and I had to leave for Drivers ED. Which was actually HORRIBLE!!!! I wanted to die. And I got that wish when I ran in the heat of the afternoon at 2pm. I, no joke, almost passed out at the Maverick by the bridge cause it was so hot and I haven't really hydrated that well. So thats how today went. I was really feeling the soreness in my legs.

WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "rap" because my older sister and brothers and I just made this rap for her friend and it was so dope! Rap is to talk in a rhythmic manner and making it sound smooth at the same time; also do not get mixed up and think that rap is a genre of music. Totally different. Ex: I went to the store and they had a rap on the radio.

am-Oh what a great run today. I felt way better than yesterday. I drank a lot of water yesterday afternoon and also I just felt better altogether. Had to once again run by myself cause of drivers ed.

WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "simulator" because that is what I did today in Driver's Ed and it was quite the thing to do. The things are super old and so the seats are crappy. My butt hurt so bad afterward. Anywho, a Simulator is a thing that is a realistic experience to what you are preparing for. Ex: In the Driver's Education class, you have to do 4 hours of simulators and get an 80%  average to pass.

am- 5.34 miles/ 42 min E. Looped out to Washington. I looped back and went through Sandbergs and it was super weird. 20 vultures just chillin' right at the pond. Anywho, wow I feel great right now! Good run. I just need to go to sleep.

am- 4.71 miles/ 35 min E. I ran over to Harts and then all the way down Industrial and came back up through the park right across from Millcreek High. I went up to the middle school and did striders and then went home. I am seriously suprised with how well I have been feeling.

WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "splash" cause that's what I just saw tonight watching the Warriors vs Cavs game! Curry and Thompson are amazing! Wow how bout that defense by Andre Iguodala on Lebron! Man that guy is a beast. Splash means to cause a sound in a liquid, or in this case, the net! Ex: I was just seeing splash from the Warriors in the final stretch!

am- I ran out to the elementary cause it ended up being the right distance. On the quicker finish I was at 5:30 pace and felt great so that was good. Solid run

am- 6.62 miles/ 50 min @Dirt Mile repeats w/pace drop each mile. Today went pretty swell. So we went up to the Dirt mile and did a pace drop thing. We were supposed to start the first mile at 7:00 but we were going slow at first; so it was 7:20. The next one was 6:40, then 6:30, then 6:15 and then we did a 1000m cause thats all the time we had left. I lead with Andrew and Skylar but they both fell off but Jake came up and so Jake and I ran together for the last mile and a half or a little more. I really felt great! My left knee on the outside was hurting from the third mile and on but not enough to make me slow down. Great run today and I'm excited for a week-ful of workouts and runs with the team!

WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "defense" cause Coach Holt said there is no defense in running. And its also because the Cavs played some beast defense. Defense means to stop something or someone from accomplishing. Ex: The Cavs played good defense which helped them win game 2 of the NBA Finals.

am- 4.62 miles/ 15warm/ 15cool with striders in between; all grass. Today was a nice day for running. I feel soo good. I am excited to see what happens coming to the start of the season cause I feel just like last year. And that feeling is fresh, confident, and ready to push myself! We did grass run today and it was nice. Preston told us about his birthday yesterday and what went down;) After running we had kids club and I was with the 7th-8th grade boys and they were a little dumb at first but then it was fun. We played ultimate frisbee but to score the goal was a soccer goal that you threw the frisbee into. Super fun! And that was it.

am- 7.5 miles/ 60 min E. Okay since somebody deleted this from yesterday, the run was up to the Parkway and then down around the trailer parks and stuff. Went out to the Sandbergs pond but just up that road by it and looped over to the elementary. Ran by some aporcot trees and I ate um and they were delicious beyond measure! Yup thats about it.

I am really impressed with our freshman too. Those guys are gonna be good. And the girls too, thats just kinda given:)

am- 10.06 miles/ 80 min E w/ quicker finish. Wow best run ever! We started at the Heritage Park in coral canyon and then went to the prospector trail, which is my favorite run ever! Wow I felt great, did get a little lag feeling in my legs at about 45 minutes but that was really it. The quicker finish went awesome too. I pushed it a little quicker than we wanted but thats alright. But yeah the run was just amazing! I really want to do it again:)

pm- 5.02 miles/ 35 min (3x3:00min pick up intervals with 3min recovery) . Wow never will I ever forget to charge my watch! My watch was dead so I didn't run until 5 and it was sooo hot! Great run though, the intervals were at 6:00 pace. I definitely felt some lag from the run yesterday but it was still a good run. The xc girls drove by coming back from the relay thing they did so that was cool.

Dream mile was super awesome!! I was betting on Mikey to be a underdog winner and he was soo close! What a beast goin after it. And the girls race was pretty decent too.

WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "ecstatic" because that is what adjective Andrew Nielsen used to describe his feelings about the coming cross country season. Ecstatic means to be like so overly excited about something it is almost exploding the person containing it. Ex: Andrew said, "I am just exstatic for cross country this year!"

am- 9.7 miles/ 80 min with a pick-up finish. Today was a beast run. We ran out to the Dino Tracks trail but then went on a different fork and ran up the Sand Hill and it was super hard. And all the sand in my shoes was really annoying going up. Then coming back down it was the best cause I just would try to kick my feet as far forward and the sand would absorb my landing. I felt like a giant bounding down a hill! Looped back and got some weird tasting water at the fire station and then finished hard coming back. Great run and hard too.

Rolled and stretched.

WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "Kinvara" cause I love those shoes and I'm gonna get another pair cause they are so awesome. Kinvara is a Irish word that translates to "head of the sea" and is also a sea port village in Ireland. Ex: I went to Kinvara in my kinvaras and it was mind-blowing!

am- 4.62 miles/ 15 warm, 8 striders, 15 cool. Today was the usual grass run at the baseball field and it felt real good. After the run we had kids club and a lil' gingey in my 7th-8th grade boys group totally broke my ankles in Capture the Flag. He juked me out hard core. What a beast! Wow these 7th-8th grade boys are a handful though; they dont seem to know what a line is.... Wow.

am- 7.4 miles/ 55 min Dirt Mile pace drop thing.  Today we went to the Dirt Mile and did some good ol' pacing stuff. We had a huge group which was awesome! I was super happy to see my boy Xander who has started coming out to XC, and he was leading our group!! What a beast that guy is, I am excited to see how he does in the season. I felt great with todays. I did feel a little hurt in the stomach because I was hungry. I seem to always want to eat.... wow I am a fatty.

WORD OF THE DAY: my word for this fine day is "parrot" because I just saw some sick BOA running shorts that has parrots all over them. I have a pic of it in this entry in fact! A Parrot is a species of bird and has a curved beak and can talk to you in a funny voice. Ex: My friend Seth Heinrich has a parrot and it is freakin' beastly.

am- 4.33 miles/ 38 min E with striders. The usual .5 barefoot grass warm; today everybody was gone because of the Washington Fields stake had trek, so there was like 25ish people, which was weird comparing to what we have had the rest of the summer. Anyhow, the run today was out to the tortoise trail and Corbin lead us around. Great run and great morning. Came back and did striders and left. Just a real chill day.

I also stretched out, did some 100 ups, and ice bathed and it was nice.

WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "vitamin" because I need to start taking those to keep myself healthy. A vitamin is a compound of nutrients that is needed by a living thing and given in little pills. Ex: My favorite vitamin is the gummy vitamin C ones because they are delicious.

am- 8.29 miles/ 65 min E. Awesome run today. We started at Sullivans Park and ran up Hells Hole and then out to the dump, which was horrid, and then looped back on the Washington Dam road. Great run and good effort. But for real, that dump was nasty.

am- 10 miles/ 87 min E with strong finish and striders afterward. Today was a good run out to the Mustang Pass and around town. I felt really tired at first but then I felt good. Great finish since our pace was super slow. I didnt have a watch to see but Coach said it was slow. Then striders after to round up a great day.

Did some rollin and 100ups and some mental stuff from Coach Rob's binder pages.

WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "homework" because sadly I still have it since I'm taking Health online so I have room in my schedule to take a business class. Homework is the stuff that students get that is done at about 24 hours or less of the time it is supposed to be turned in.... or two weeks after:) Ex: I don't paticularly like homework.

am- 6.75 miles/ 45 min E. Little sleep again, but I felt better than yesterday. We ran out to Middleton with a big group of guys. It was cool. Even though a few guys were gone, our younger dudes came with and stuck in there. Solid day.

WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "mouse" because I found a dead mouse in my dogs water bowl. Nasty. I got it taken care off, and then I set a few traps. Then I found the mouse hole (by the way, this is like the 6th time it has happened! My poor dog) and I had a briliant idea: pour gasoline down the hole and light it on fire! And thats what I did. So hopefully no mice come out anymore:) A mouse is a small rodent that is nasty and carries deceases and stuff. Ex: I killed a mouse once... and I have killed many after that.

am- 6.9 miles/ 65 min E. Chuckwala!! I love this trail, it is so adventurous. We went out to the cave and back. Super fun run but my legs are a little sore though.

WORD OF THE DAY: the word of the day is "hot" cause it is freakin' 112 degrees today!! I was just standing outside with my dog and I was sweating bad. Hot means to have excess heat in temperature and yeah. Ex: It gets hot in my house when my mom turns the thermostat to 77!

am- 5.8 miles/ 45 min with 4x3:00 min faster pace intervals with equal recovery. Met up with Mitch, Andrew, Skylar and Jason at Panorama and ran down on the river trail. It was a solid run. The fartlek type intervals were quick but that is just fine cause it felt good to get some quick stuff in the week of running! Had a scary moment when after the run stretching, I didn't notice that I sat right in a spot of grass infested with ants. Thankfully I didn't even get bit, cause that would have been no fun.

WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "mental" because I am starting to realize how important this is with running. Like being mentally ready is better than physically once your at a certain point. Mental is adjective that describes or is about the mind. Ex: Having good mental health is key in many aspects of life.
